That process in conjunction with her physicians, used Yoga, Reiki, & Intuition, to heal without drugs or surgery. Judi carries that life changing empowering philosophy in her teachings.

Judi is compassionate, spiritual, fluid and credible. Her yoga helps you to live mindfully and to blend what we learn on the mat into our lives. Judi's teaching is based on Hatha, Intergral Yoga and Viniyoga. Her emphasis is chronic, acute and critical illness and pain.

Judi assists Jan Hauenstein at River's Edge in Cleveland and Winds of Change in Moreland Hills, co-teaching the yoga teacher training level 1 and advance yoga teacher training and yoga therapist certification. She teaches anatomy, asana, teaching methodology, intuition and philosophy. Melaney Stoops LPN, 500-RYT, Therapeutic Yoga Therapist

Stoops

Melaney took her first yoga class twelve years ago, at age 43. Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, she attributes yoga with keeping her healthy and active. After graduating from nursing school, Melaney went to work in a local hospital. While working there, it became evident to her that many patients could benefit from a regular yoga practice.

In 2006, Melaney completed yoga teacher training and is in the process of becoming a yoga therapist. She will also be teaching Anatomy and Physiology to students in training to become yoga teachers. It is Melaney’s philosophy that regardless of your age, or your physical capabilities, there is a yoga program that will benefit you. Her areas of focus are therapeutic yoga for arthritis, yoga for weight loss, beginning yoga classes, as well as private yoga sessions.

Chris is a certified yoga teacher at the 200 and 500 hour levels. She is also a certified yoga therapist. Chris' teaching style blends proper physical alignment of the body while simultaneously weaving the energy of breath, flowing movement and meditation into her classes. She passionately infuses her teaching with the concepts of loving kindness and mindfulness and draws inspiration from all of life’s lessons. Chris believes that by living our yoga, we begin to lay the foundation for self growth, healing and balancing our physical, emotional and spiritual selves. Chris is appreciative of the physical benefits yoga provides, but is most grateful for the mental and spiritual awareness and joy that the practice of yoga has afforded her. Her primary focus is to offer support and tools to help people learn how to lay the foundation for healing through yoga. She teaches one-on-one and class sessions.

Sarah Grau OTR/L, 500-RYT, Yoga Therapy Practitioner

Grau

Sarah is a certified yoga teacher and a licensed occupational therapist. Her love for yoga began over ten years ago, during her own struggle with depression. Through her extensive professional training and her personal experience, Sarah has come to understand any physical limitations and emotional challenges that many of her students may bring to their own yoga practice. Sarah believes yoga is practiced both on and off the mat which is reflected in her kind and friendly teaching style. Although no longer practicing occupational therapy, she incorporates various aspects of her clinical expertise into her yoga instruction, including her knowledge of anatomy, proper body alignment and mental health concerns.

Sarah’s classes are principally structured in the Hatha yoga tradition and she integrates styles such as viniyoga, anusara and kundalini, and breathwork is a strong focal point in Sarah’s classes. Sarah attributes most of her spiritual, physical and mental well being to her commitment to her yoga study and practice. Sarah completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification through TRY4Life Yoga in Cleveland and she is also a level II Reiki practitioner.  She is currently pursuing 300 additional hours of advanced yoga teacher training at TRY4Life and will earn a 500 hour Yoga Teacher/Yoga Therapist certification following completion of these hours.

Sarah maintains a personal web site for her local clients and has provided a number of informative pages about yoga. Vist her at Crown-Yoga

Donna Doren-CYT, Reiki Master, RN, BSN, MED

Doren

Donna’s training in yoga began in August 2002 after an injury to her lower back (herniated discs L-5-L-5 and L5-S1, with stenosis). Trips to physicians, while using medication and physical therapy provided minimal relief and her remaining options were nerve blocks and/or surgery. She discovered that nerve blocks were only a temporary symptom relief and that surgery offered a 1 in 3 chance of success and if successful would need to be repeated, a lifetime of pain and inability to function seemed to lie ahead.

It was then that Donna found Judi Bar and learned how Judi solved a very similar back problem using yoga to treat herself. The possibility of help opened up Donna’s hope and inspired her. At that time in her life Donna was so incapacitated that she had difficulty leaving home, could not sit, stand, walk or lie down without excruciating pain. She began her yoga practice in 1:1s with Judi and gradually, Judi and the practice of yoga gave her back her ability to function and relieved the agonizing pain she had endured. As a result, Donna has become passionately devoted to yoga. Not only did it relieve her constant pain and allow physical movement again, it also provided emotional and spiritual growth. She now hopes to share the benefits and joys of yoga with others.

Donna has studied 5 years, over 750 hours, assisting and teaching classes and 1:1s with Judi Bar, CYT, E-500-RYT and received Yoga Teacher Training from TRY4Life, a National Yoga Alliance approved school with teachers Judi Bar and Jan Hauenstein, and is now a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) and Reiki Master. Donna is also a retired RN, BSN, MEd with over 30 years hospital nursing experience as a staff nurse, nurse counselor and a clinical nursing manager.

Barbara Munderloh- 500 RYT, Yoga Therapy Practitioner, MBA

Munderloh

Barbara Munderloh (CYT/RYT 200) found yoga during a difficult career change and has expanded yogic principles to help her through other life changes.  She attributes yoga for helping her manage her often 12-16 hour days in the corporate world and for teaching the importance of a work-life balance. Barbara teaches 'Hearty' group classes, corporate classes and offers private instruction in postures and yoga therapy. She uses a slow and strong flowing technique to calm the mind and teach patience to even the most 'Type A' personality. She notes even a small amount of yoga can help balance a stressful lifestyle.

Amy L. Govoni –RN, MSN, RMT

Govoni

Amy is a Reiki Master and has a Masters in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.  Her introduction to the fields of yoga and reiki began with a herniated disc and back pain. She did physical therapy, but found that prevention of future injury and stress were things the physical therapy couldn't help her with. She had heard Judi Bar speak a year before at the library, and had kept her card. Amy believes it is amazing how spirit works that way and has been working with Judi every since. Judi has helped her heal her mind, body and life and has been a wonderful journey for Amy!

Between yoga and reiki Amy has become a healthier person! Reiki healing energy has been a healing and calming force in her life that she would like to share. People with cysts, tumors, arthritic pain and generalized low energy are just some of the people that reiki can help. Amy also teaches Reiki I and II with Judi Bar.  This is a wonderful integration of the healing of nursing and that of reiki!

Peace & Blessings to you...Namaste!
